Our helicopter professional pilot program is designed for students who aim to fly rotorcraft commercially. The training covers essential knowledge, operational procedures, aircraft handling, and aviation technology, along with all certificates and ratings needed to enter the helicopter workforce. ATA ensures each student develops the skills, discipline, and decision-making ability necessary for safe and effective helicopter flight operations.
This program equips students to become Helicopter Instrument Rated Commercial Pilots, Certified Flight Instructors, and Certified Flight Instructor Instrument pilots. Graduates will gain valuable experience as flight instructors, essential for accumulating the flight hours needed for employment with air operators.
Helicopter pilots can pursue diverse career opportunities globally, including roles in student pilot training, offshore support, firefighting, law enforcement, agriculture, pipeline and utility support, sightseeing, executive transport, Emergency Medical Services, search and rescue, logging, and test piloting. This career path is both rewarding and fulfilling.
Designed for those with no prior flight experience, the program also offers credit for students with existing private pilot certificates or other flight experience, which can reduce required hours and costs. It follows the minimum time requirements of Federal Aviation Regulations, with additional hours charged at the school’s published rates.
